Experiencing matters!

We all have days when we feel lost, days when we feel like we can conquer the world. Often I am unable to be clear because I am too impatient with the thoughts running through my head I don’t let them run their course. later on I am gasping at the threads trying to make sense of it all when actually I never let them come together completely in the first place.

How many times are we actually able to sit through things without interruption? Why this hurry? What are we trying to accomplish? Why do we start counting days when the holidays just start? Why not step back and enjoy the moment as it is? I don’t see kids playing in an empty ground any more. Babies first learn operating the Ipad first. Alphabets can wait. Expression is secondary. Technology comes first. Restless ness is the by-product of technology. a restless mind leads to lesser and lesser peace.

I cannot hear the birds in the morning. Only the sounds of horns and generators and motors fill the air. Far too much time is lost in acquiring and lesser time gets invested in experiencing. while we are human and in this earth, lets experience for a change and stop running behind things to be achieved and acquired.

Experiences lead to memories and happy memories are what we will carry in our hearts for the times that come.

Perfection

There a million ways to plan and strategize about what we want and how we are going to get it, but what actually happens is far beyond anyone’s control. It is a subtle but relentless mechanism called nature and life is all about going with it. Lesser the struggle, more the gains. When I say gains, do not picture wealth. What you gain here is peace of mind. Peace is gained when you do not anticipate, expect or wish. It is a state where everything is as it should be. Why not then treat this life like a game we get to play. Give your best throws and wait for the breeze to do the rest. No matter where you land, its beautiful and worth experiencing. Let go of set patterns and ideas about a perfect life. Life is perfect. It is just not what you expected.

Are you escaping from NOW?

It is so easy to get caught in the mundane things of life. Routine is so stable, so comforting. If only we could break out of the shackles of this stability will we find the excitement of the unknown. One can predict what will happen next. Our life is a series of events aligned one after the other strictly following the pattern of everyday routine.

Everything is planned. Salary gets credited. Immediately some of it is planned to be saved. For future. We kill the excitement of tomorrow by planning it today.

Let go a little.. spend an unplanned day. Breathe deeply and soak in your surroundings..
Do not have an agenda for today. Just be.. The magic of living is in the Now.

U wouldn't know...

You yawn, open your eyes when the sun light falls on your face,
You stub your toe, wince and drag yourself from bed,
You stare at yourself in the mirror, rub sleep off your eyes,
You boil the eggs, heat milk, the tape is playing your favourite song.

You rush about, eyes dart from left to right, you sprint across the road,
A smile on your lips, the day has just begun.
The tray is filling up, three cups of coffee and the day gets harder,
Work is just an extension of you, I see that you see this.

A wave of a hand, a nod and a shrug,
You skip and sprint, works done for the day, you head towards the store.
A beer, a smoke, you need peace.
I wanna ask you if you care for some company?

No is not an answer, refusal not an option.
Is it better you being a part of my life without being in it?
Would it matter if I existed, stayed close, kept you warm?
Would it be nice to hear you speak, know what goes on in your head?

Do you know, I know what you're thinking? U wouldn't know.
Do you realise, I'm thinking of you? U wouldn't know.

Where is the music?

I wander away from the hustle bustle of city life, not because I am the quiet type or that I like to be a villager. Technology, modernisation has made life more comfortable and pleasurable and I really do cherish that experience. I do like my life. I listen to trance and I like to party once in a while. I enjoy my fast paced life, hurrying my way to work and bumping into people who are in a hurry too.

But what about the music? Where is the music that I wish to hear? In crowds? In clashing of steel? In honking of cars? In noise?
Where is the peace? Where do I find heavenly melody?

The wee hours of the morning just before sunrise are the most favorite minutes of my day. The whole world is sleeping. Birds are chirping. No cars, No movement. Only leaves rustling. I can hear the wind, the trees and the sound of silence.
I am in the moment. Not in the past, not in the future. That is when I feel truly alive.

Not surprising that there is music in silence.

The world is exactly what we think...

It is the same road. Same auto. Same gate to cross. Same building to be entered. Same people. Same environment. Same work!

An old known place can seem different when our mind set is different. The same people begin to be right. Things look good somehow and the world seems a better place. What is this quality which alters how we feel about our surroundings which hasn't really changed at all?

It is our mind which has the ability to change everything. When we are sad, everything around us seems awful. No wonder then that suicides seem foolish to a happy person.

If the world is exactly the way we see it, what then should our thought process be? Is the right way to approach things is to look inside out or outside in?

Happiness, contentment and peace comes from within. The outside world is constantly only giving us what we ask for.. ask for grief and you will find it in plenty. Ask for joy and you will exactly attract it! I once heard some one say "I wake up every morning and decide that I'm gonna be happy today. That is the secret to being happy." Surely, nothing else works!

Perception matters. Really!

Love don't live here anymore...

You bang the door, leave; I'll see your face for breakfast in the morn!
Why do we disagree on every point?

Hands on my knees, head over my hands. I weep...
I know no one’s coming through that door to night.

Thoughts run in my head, will be a better wife I say to myself...
If only you could get one chance to voice out!

I’ve been listening to you all my life
It’s been weeks, months and years

Now it’s my turn, I will speak
I see only walls they hear me speak

No regret if the door does not open tomorrow
I’ll have my pie with the wall

Everyone fighting, screaming, tears and cries!
All I see is love don’t live here anymore...

Nightmares about nonsense!

Me: "Hey! It's been long!"
That irritating voice in my head: "What?"

Me: "I haven't posted anything on my blog!"
That irritating voice in my head:  "Thats ok! (sounds bored) who reads your blog anyway?"

Me: Don't be rude. "You know I like writing to an imaginary audience :)"
That irritating voice in my head: "Well! Nice way to avoid disappointment :P"

Me: "It's not that people are not interested in reading my thoughts..."
That irritating voice in my head: "It's about the fact that are your thoughts good enough to be read!?"

Me: (thinking...)
That irritating voice in my head:  "Hey! That's my job! You go write your rubbish.. You are at your best when you write nonsense!"

Why do I write?

“Why do you write? “ Someone asked me this morning. To write is one thing, to converse is another. What then bridges the gap for written conversation? Why should someone read what I write? And like it or dislike it? What interest us? Is it human desire to know what other feel? Or to find what if others thoughts match up to one’s own?

Discussions, debates, arguments meetings, chatting are all ways to know one another. It’s this communication that keeps the world alive. Incidents are shared to form stories leading to memories. We like company! :) We may not agree with someone’s viewpoint! But the fun is in knowing that another opinion to the same stuff exists!

What lies ahead...

Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery. I can alter today to my benefit to have a happy history. I can plan tomorrow and solve part of the mystery. But plans don’t always materialise! History is not always pleasant either! But wtf! I am happy I tried.

To try is not to fail but to achieve to some extent. Goals cannot always be well defined. It kills the excitement of tomorrow... But like many, I want to have the cake and eat it too! :)

Get your hands dirty or you are never going to know what you are good at and what you suck at! ;)

To be bad at something is not wrong. To not know what you are good at is a waste of a life. Thinking is hard work... especially to the ones who are not used to it... The more I run away from thought the more rusted my mind gets... Its only when water flows continuously that the path is free of blocks... A freeway can get you speed but one needs to control the direction...

Driving one’s life to a destination is not the goal. To find a beautiful way throughout the journey to the destination is.

My Calling

So of all the wonderful millions of things available in this beautiful world of things to do I am trying (trying is a pathetic word don’t you think?) to find ' my calling'. this phrase 'my calling' sounds exotic like straight from a travel book or magazine with glossy covers or perhaps even glossy pages.. Which majors in penning down interesting fundas about life for the benefit of humanity... or the society in general so to speak.. But let me tell you.. As we all are aware it takes guts to at least admit that you do not know what you want to do after living 25 years of your life and lazing around.. With parents providing for your food, bed and shelter... But sooner or later it begins to bug all of us.. MBA seems to be the new basic graduation and a gateway to a decent management position... And I am wondering as I am writing this brilliant piece of rubbish work surely I can be a writer... journalist? nah... Interviewing ppl is not my cup of tea.. at least it could be coffee... or quiche but not tea!!!

And as I include food in my write up.. am also wondering if Food is my business after all... and I should be putting my graduation to good use...
